Summary
What does this car say about you?
Smart, fun, sporty, economical.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Unusual, smart.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Reliable and VERY economical. We have seen 62mpg on a number of occasions and high 50's are very common. Very comfortable on a long run funny to say...
What are you likely to buy next?
Would not say no to another Colt.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£7,500
When did you buy the car?
February 2005
Did you get a good deal and why?
Not really. I don't like to haggle.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Looked around - checked out Micra etc. and found this the best of the bunch for price, value and looks.
What was the dealer like?
Family firm - appeared friendly. Service costs were horrendous at £160 for the 12K service. Crazy. Parts such as air cleaner (£23) are just insane. Complete rip-off.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very good. The screen pillers are thick and the suspension is slightly crashy. No worse than many. It's very willing, and rewarding to drive well. Interior noise is very acceptable - even at 80mph.
What's it like to park?
Easy Peasy....

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No. To date (33K miles) it's been sweet. However, the gearbox is noisy with considerable input shaft noise. A slight metallic ping can sometimes be heard when using the clutch.
What's most practical about your car?
Interior space - brilliant. Some say the boot is small with the rear seat back. True - but with the seat back you have enough room for a party. With the rear seat fully forward, the boot is good and my daughter (5'7") remains very comfortable.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Door mirrors. Would love air conditioning but it was not fitted. A worthwhile accessory.
