Mitsubishi Colt (2004 - 2013) 1.3 CZ2 3d Owner Review

In their own words
As a no nonsense typically Japanese car it's unbeatable. No real faults and looks like a mini EVO. Definitely worth considering over the French and Italian offerings and that's coming from an MOT tester who's done over 6000 cars. I'm genuinely struggling to think of any downsides apart from a small boot / hatch but the rear seats fold flat anyway so no problem in normal use, and the interior is a little plastic but you don't drive staring at the centre console. A bluetooth connection would be a good upgrade item.
How reliable do you find the car?
The original battery was becoming goosed - as the car is electric power steering and throttle is sometimes did odd things like subtly altering the steering weight and assistance, and the throttle would hunt a little on cruise control. New battery completely solved these quirks and improved MPG.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
I used to MOT and service this car for a customer - and thought it was far too sporting for an older lady. I asked for first refusal when she traded it in and set about subtly upgrading it without being obvious. It now has the much more supportive seats from the Colt Turbo CZT and the larger front brakes. Although not faulty I fitted Eibach fast road springs, Sachs gas dampers, a Ralliart strut brace and new brake hoses. It's not a ball of fire but as a lightweight fast hatch it's spot on for such a low price. They don't rust, no belt to replace (chain), cheap parts and excellent economy. It's even made the trip to the Nurburgring twice but not actually on the track itself.About their car
