Mitsubishi Galant Estate 2.0 GLS 5d Auto (AC) (1998/R) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Horrifically undervalued. Less to buy than similar age/mileage 306.
Costs
Thirsty (30.5mpg average over 9000 miles). Insurance reasonable (under £1k for 21yo male, no NCB, fully comp). Servicing not bad for type of car.

On the road
Driving
Superb. Can drive for 4 hours without discomfort, then 4 hours back again. Good pull even from 2.0 auto, great ride, good handling, very good grip, very safe and relaxed. A mature car (no boy racer's plaything).
Performance
2.0 is plenty fast in real world (especially in auto form - yes, you read that right. Faster REAL WORLD). I'm sure 2.4 and V6 even better.

Living with it
Reliability
Flawless so far.
Image
Handsome, understated. I love it. Not ostentatious nor overly aggressive, although Parker's description as
Comfort
Superb. Good ride comfort and seats. Bettered by BMW 7, but you'd expect that!

Security and Service
Security
Lack of deadlocks a concern. Alarm good (it does go off if provoked, but very very few false alarms).
Service
No problems at all so far.
