Summary
What does this car say about you?
It says that despite being strapped for cash, i'm still willing to do a bit of legwork to find something that i really want rather than settle for something more 'normal'.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
A lot of glances suggest 2 things...1) What IS that car? 2) Looks fantastic!
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would if it were still made!
What are you likely to buy next?
Not sure. It'll need to be a similar type of estate....but am i being spoiled by the Lancer?

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£3,000
When did you buy the car?
February 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
I think so. As long as both parties settle on a deal that suits each person then it's a good deal, right? Tax, Mot, Service and a tank of petrol were all agreed on in the price.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I needed a good value, quality estate car...but didn't want to follow the herd down the Ford/Vauxhall route. Researched the Lancer, decided on the 2.0 Sport and went for it. Hard to find - not many about - but the search/wait paid off in the end.
What was the dealer like?
Super. Friendly, no-nonsense and no flannel.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Not screamingly fast, more 'stealth'. Has all the power you'll need for the 30-60 overtake. Pulls very smoothly and, when you point it down a twisty road, it's a lot of fun. Tax is quite high, but insurance was surprisingly affordable and fuel? Well, it's a 2 litre, but i'm averaging 33-35mpg on my Urban commute....achieved 43 on the motorway run when i collected it.
What's it like to park?
I do find that the car feels very long - but of course it is, it's an estate. I'll get used to it. Easy to park - especially reversing in - just surprisingly hard to judge the distance.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not yet (only had it a week) but it feels as solid as a brand-new car. Full history gives some confidence.
What's most practical about your car?
Almost everything. A good size boot to fit camping gear in. Quite big when seats folded down too. The reclining rear seats make for great comfort for back-seat passengers too.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I love the dark window-tint and the big 16" alloys...lends the car a wonderful 'presence' and class. Oh and the White dials/Red needles at night.
