Mitsubishi Lancer Estate (2005-2008) interior, tech and comfort

The steering wheel is a pleasingly sporty MOMO design on the Sport model, but other elements of the view from the driver’s seat are utterly unexciting with a very bland, cheap-looking dash. That wheel adjusts up and down, but not in and out. You don’t feel short changed in terms of equipment or – if you pick the 2.0 litre engine – pace, but this is a comparatively utilitarian environment.
There’s adequate interior space and it enjoys a good level of basic equipment which includes air-conditioning across the range. The supple suspension soaks up most lumps and bumps but a long stint in the driving seat could have you wishing for more support. Rear leg room is poorer than the class standard but adults will fit for short trips.
