Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I think a car should be practical and cheap to buy, but also needs to be better than average to drive
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
All really like it and are surprised how good it is for the money. Friends have spent £10.5K+ on shopping hatches and feel like they've made a bit of a mistake
Would you buy this car again and why?
I'd certainly buy another one, except I think the new model lancer comes out anytime now
What are you likely to buy next?
Whatever else is around at the time I next buy that gives me 9ish secs 0-60 mph and tops out at around 130 mph

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£10,200
When did you buy the car?
September 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Purchase price was extremely competitive, and they offered me a good deal on my trade in
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
It seemed to do everything you would expect from a 2 litre saloon, plus quite a bit more, at a ridiculously low price
What was the dealer like?
Really good - very hungry for the deal, and prepared to source a car from elsewhere within the dealership network to get the colour I wanted quickly.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Really good. My wife has a 2 litre Ford Focus Zetec and the lancer is just as quick and handles almost as well, and was loads cheaper.
What's it like to park?
Easy (the rear tail fin helps you judge where the back of the car is). I have had to remove the middle of the three rear headrests to get proper rearward view

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No
What's most practical about your car?
It just does the job in a really unfussy way. It's roomy, the 2 litre's quick, and gets you from A to B in comfort
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Momo leather covered sports steering wheel (sad, I know).
