Summary
What does this car say about you?
It's sporty looking which I have always tended to go for & yet not common, there's not loads of them on the road in this country, so I like to drive something a little different, but still have its practicality.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Yeah they like it - some aren't sure about the rear end looks - but hey, I don't see the rear end when I'm driving it!
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would - but they've stopped importing them! Value for money & reliability.
What are you likely to buy next?
Really don't know now - would've bought the same again but as that wont be possible, maybe something like the new MG - The diesel seems to be getting good reviews.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£10,600
When did you buy the car?
June 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Excellent value for money - due to break up of marriage we were getting rid of a 2008 Xtrail that my wife drove, she had my old Astra & I was looking for a car suitable for the big mileage I do for work. The Mitsibushi dealer in Dursley gave £2000 & the Lancer as the deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Value for money. Always drove Vauxhalls previously & a comparable trim level Astra was another £2-3000.
What was the dealer like?
Really good, as you can imagine trying to part exchange a car worth more than the one you're buying isn't the greatest position to be in, but they were great & worked out a good deal.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I've driven 60,000 miles since buying the car & have to say it drives well, & is really comfortable, eats up the motorway miles effortlessly.
What's it like to park?
Very easy - nice light steering at low speed.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It's had one fault where the engine management light kept coming on - turned out to be a faulty emissions sensor - all fixed under warranty at the same time as a service.
What's most practical about your car?
Iy's physically bigger than the Astra's I've previously owned - more space inside & in the boot. The split level boot it particularly good as I can leave items in the lower oart under the divider & my dog still has plenty of room in the boot.
