Mitsubishi Outlander (2004 - 2007) 2.4 MIVEC Sport SE 5d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I've racked up seven years of aggro-free motoring in the Outlander. It takes me to France or Belgium on average every six weeks and has never let me down. Behaves perfectly on motorways, minor roads and unmade tracks. Comfortable enough to put in nine or ten hours at the wheel for long trips. Surprisingly quick for a vehicle without "performance" pretensions. Plenty of room in the back for a load of luggage. Apart from tyres and other consumables it's needed nothing replacing. Starts on the button and no squeaks, creaks or groans. I soon discovered that it needs to have its tyres at exactly 32psi all round to return the best mpg. I've added a K&N filter and a stainless cat-back exhaust and now regularly get 25-30 to the gallon regardless of traffic conditions. Not many of them around now but well worth the money.
How reliable do you find the car?
Had it seven years now and it's been absolutely bomb proof. Nothing apart from the expected consumables has needed replacing. Only minor niggle is a misbehaving door actuator which makes it randomly lock itself.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Takes me to Europe many times each year. Probably the most comfortable car I've ever owned, and I've had Audis, BMWs and hydraulic-suspension Citroens. Quick on the motorways and perfectly agile on minor roads.About their car
