What does this car say about you?

That i like to run cars into the ground. That i think about the repair bills, That im practical and dont care if i get to my destination 10 minutes later than you.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Who cares, i didnt buy it to impress anyone or show off how much money i think i have.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Maybe, if it was available here the newer model would be better although less practical and more expensive to fix at the trade off of hopefully being a little more refined with the same off road availability.

What are you likely to buy next?

Landcruiser Amazon / Nissan Patrol / Pathfinder, any Reliable bulletproof Japanese 4x4.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £3,000

When did you buy the car?

    September 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

Prices have stabilised now i reckon but you buy now on condition rather than mileage. There are some real bargains to be had with these buses.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

After owning a V10 Touareg with 10 injectors, two fuel pumps and two turbos i decided to quit while i was ahead and go back to simple cheap and reliable engineering. I need space and i need a car to get me home whatever the weather, thats all...and one that wasnt going to put points on my license!

    What's it like to drive?

Ive had better... Takes a bit more care and forward thinking. Will not stop on 2 pence piece, the rear wheel 2wd will catch you off guard on wet roads (the back will step out when you even think about pushing it). The worst is engine noise on the motorway, 70 is bearable but go over that speed at your own peril...not that you'll be able to stop quickly anyway. For me driving on my own im happy and enjoy it, but no way would i take my family in it. Definatly a work horse not a commuter.

    What's it like to park?

Doddle, love the big wing mirrors. Rear headrests are a bit big though.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Siezed calipers (poor brake design full of pins and retaining clips) but cheap and so easy to replace one the rust is removed! Changed cambelt for piece of mind, changed glow plugs and battery. Fuel filler pipe is a good checkpoint as design in the wheel arch means they rot where the dirt collects. Reverse lights dont work as a bad earth somewhere i cant find. Most items can be fixed yourself saving money and everythings so simple accessible! If you change a tyre you dont have to plug into the dealers ipad to reset any air suspension!

What's most practical about your car?

The huge space and load area and the 2wd 4wd select. Saves fuel, tyres, diffs, gearboxes etc! AWD is so overated!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Thats the beauty of it! It doesnt have any so less to go wrong, and easier to fix! Do like the volt meter and oil pressure gauges, not sure how accurate they are but nice touch.
