Mitsubishi Shogun 2.8 GLX TD 5d (1997/P) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Hard to rate. I personally think it's worth every penny but I could have bought a brand new car for what I paid used?
Costs
Servicing parts can be expensive (£35 for an oil filter) and the oil should be changed every 4500 miles but nothing seems to wear out on these things. Fuel cost can be high, mine returns on average 22-26mpg

On the road
Driving
Very good for type of car. Very stable and easy to drive considering its size. Handles very well despite its high centre of gravity but tyres do make an enormous difference. Excellent off-road only let down by ground clearance (compared to my series La
Performance
Very responsive with lots of torque. May not be GTi at the lights but it's as good as most small cars. Low top end speed but will cruise all day at 80 (erm... sorry, 70mph)

Living with it
Reliability
Excellent. Covered around 20,000 miles now with out a single problem.
Image
In my eyes one of the best looking 4x4s. Clean lines with nice interior both put together using good quality materials.
Comfort
Very comfortable. Seats and steering can be adjusted better than any other car I've known. Tall people may need to adjust the seat runners as at 5'7 my seat is almost at the end of it's run.

Security and Service
Security
Standard security poor. Needs aftermarket alarm for peace of mind.
Service
Serviced myself but dealer seems very helpfull. Did a check on the pitman arm recall with out asking. Even took me to work and back whilst it was being done.
