Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like to think it says I'm a hard working farm worker that likes to look after his car.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
My mum loves it, dads not sure about it. Most neighbours are farm workers so own similar vehicles and it seems to have a Marmite effect with my friends, they either love it or hate it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes definitely, it's been a good car considering I paid very little for it and has had better reliability than some newer vehicles I've owned which is surprising as it's been used as a workhorse.
What are you likely to buy next?
Would consider another Shogun but would go for a LWB next time round as the SWB fuel tank is small.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£450
When did you buy the car?
August 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got a very good deal, bought the car for only £450 with a long MOT, 1 owner from new and an almost full service history.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed the use of a 4wd car for work as I regularly drive on wet lanes and muddy fields in summer and snowy untreated roads in the winter.
What was the dealer like?
A friendly old chap who was selling as downgrading due to retirement.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Good on road and very capable off road. I enjoy driving it.
What's it like to park?
Easier than some other cars due to big windows, big mirrors and good all round visibility.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Rev counter stopped working but got it working again. Had a small leak in the fuel tank, replaced with another used (but excellent condition) tank. Electric aerial stopped working - this was also easily replaced.
What's most practical about your car?
SWB model is good for navigating tight farm lanes and with the back seat folded down I can put all my tools in the back without the need for a trailer.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Super select 4wd. I like the option to be able to switch between 2wd and 4wd on any surface without having to worry about damaging the transmission. Something I wasn't able to do on some of the previous 4wd vehicles I owned.
