Mitsubishi Shogun (2007 - 2018) 3.2 DI-DC (187bhp) SG2 5d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Having owned over 25 4x4 's of all make during the past 40 years we bought a LWB Shogun at the start of 2019 and soon wished we had not. The car is out dated, noisy, under powered, has an awful ride with poor road manners. The rear door with it's massive spare wheel is menace as it is impossible to open/close if car is on a slope or in high winds or if someone parks close behind you, rear seats do not fold flat in to floor so reduce what should be a massive load space by a good 18 inches. Off road or in snow even with all terrain tyre's it is useless when compared to other 4x4's. There is little if any internal storage and the quality of materials used on areas such as the dash are cheap and nasty, never had a car with so many squeak's, rattles and loose bits which make long journeys a nightmare. If you are thinking of buying a Shogun take one on an extended test drive of a couple of hours then drive a Land Cruiser, Discovery or Jeep Grand Cherokee and one will soon see how poor a car the Shogun really is.
How reliable do you find the car?
Car is just so badly put together and uses such poor quality materials and parts everything appears to have been made down to a price not up to a specification. When compared to other 4x4 from Japan it is awful.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Car does nothing well what so ever over 8 months of ownership cannot find one single thing that one could say is good about it. Others who have driven it agree and have stated that they should have stopped making it 10 years ago as the competition (Land Rover, Jeep, Toyota etc) runs circles around it and are better cars.About their car
