Summary
What does this car say about you?
Old git!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I don't care, but no-one has passed any unfavourable comments.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. I was dissappointed by Mitsubishi's response to the problem with the rear disk brakes.
What are you likely to buy next?
I am looking to buy a used luxury car to try and get all the creature comforts, bells and whistles for a budget price.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£12,000
When did you buy the car?
June 2001
Did you get a good deal and why?
Reasonable deal as I got a good part exchange price for my old Peugeot 405.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I was looking for a small estate car and the Space Star seemed ideal.
What was the dealer like?
OK - the usual car salesman - courteous, a bit patronising, and full of bullshit.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very comfortable. Good driving position. Good acceleration form the turbo-diesel, especially for overtaking on the motorway. Brajkes are very reassuring. Noise levels too high (mostly road noise).
What's it like to park?
OK.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Everything was OK until it went in for its 36000 mile service (after the free servicing expired). Cost? - £680!!! It needed new rear disks and pads. I tried to get the disks under warranty, but Mitsubishi refused, but I did get the deater to refund labour costs. Then it failed its first MoT (41000miles) - cracked exhaust and uneven front braking. The exhaust was fixed under warranty, but I had to pay for new pads on the front brakes. It has also suffered from badly worn front tyres (outside edges).
What's most practical about your car?
Space inside. Split folding rear seats (to form a level load area). Full depth tailgate - very good for loading large items.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Nothing special to report.
