Nissan 200 SX 2.0 Standard 2d (1995/M) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Pretty much the quickest rear drive for the money (purchase and insurance), that's why I bought it.
Costs
Pretty reliable, but parts can be very expensive from Nissan. Fuel is biggest cost averaging 23mpg round town. Insurance group 17 stings too

On the road
Driving
Excellent rear-drive fun, suspension soft and suprising tendancy to understeer when used on the track (but can be provoked and tyre choice contributary) good compromise for road with good ride/ handling balance
Performance
As standard respectably quick, but there is a free mod which will increase boost by 2psi (20bhp ish). £300 will buy boost controller, gauge, cat replacement pipe and cold spark plugs and you should see 250+bhp. This absolutely transforms the car.

Living with it
Reliability
No major probs so far just standard wear items have needed replacing (shocks, bushes, pads etc.). Turbos and clutches will eventually go, but life very depant upon driver behaviour.
Image
Very innocuous, exhaust quiet even at full bore, doesn't attract attention from plod and you can park it anywhere. Anyone in the know appreciates them.
Comfort
Good ride, excellent seats, quiet, no complaints

Security and Service
Security
I think most if not all will have the Nissan anti theft system which is rated as Thatcham Cat 1. Innocuous so doesn't seem to attract unwanted attention.
Service
Nissan parts desk very helpfull at my local dealer, but never have anything in stock, takes a long while to arrive (lambda sensor 6 weeks!) and expensive
