Nissan Almera Hatchback 2.0 GTi 3d (1997/P) Owner Review

Economy
Value
It's a cheap second-hand car for the performance and spec.
Costs
I've had mine from 24,000 to 64,000 miles and, besides servicing every 9,000 miles, the only thing that's needed replacing is the exhaust.

Driving
Unfortunately, it feels bland and unexciting to drive.
Performance
It feels fairly quick, but not as quick as my old Primera GTe! I was disappointed after 'trading down' to what should have been a faster car!

Living with it
Reliability
No problems.
Image
3-door hatchback version of the Almera looks OK. The GTi is the only one I would buy!
Comfort
The driver's seat offers *very* poor support and gives me backache. My knees are difficult to squeeze in behind the steering wheel, too. Worst feature? Rear anti-roll bar means load space is *tiny*.

Security and Service
Security
Some git attacked the driver's door with a screwdriver and forced the lock open, but the alarm scared him off. Surely a decent thief comes equipped to steal PROPERLY??!! Cost £550 to repair.
Service
Didn't use Nissan servicing - not worth the extra.
