    5 out of 5 5.0

Fantastic. Lots of kit, Sat Nav, CD, ESP EBD+ABS climate etc - would cost at least +£3k for same Pug 307 and double that for equivalent VAG speced cars. Got good finance deal and price from dealer as well.

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

50 mpg achievable, 43 mpg with swift driving. Service costs should be reasonable with 12k intervals. Depreciation will be biggest hit, though I intend to keep it at least 6 years. Performance tyres could be pricey.

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Handling very good, with well weighted steering though ride can get choppy at speed. Grip is very good and you have to try really hard to get the ESP to activate while cornering. High speed cruising is effortless with 6spd box.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Outstanding - the pull surprises other drivers as much as me every day. So responsive, with real grunt available in all gears. Turbo makes a great swooshing noise as well!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

ABS actuator failed within 200 miles, though likley due to some spirited driving when demonstrating performance to a friend ! Hose clip related to turbo charger came lose. Both fixed quickly and easily enough.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

No Golf or Megane image, but thats the point. SXE looks subtley sporty but individual.Confident with nothing to prove. This car does not need to try too hard - those in the know realise what a technically advanced and speced car this is for the money.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Seats have lots of adjustment, but sportier alcantara would have been nice to fit sporty image. Only real gripe is slight tyre roar on certain surfaces at speed. Cruise control is the only other option I'd have liked.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

I hear its got the best shielded locks on the market. The car is also quite low key.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

Sales experience was first class. Service dept may need to raise game though - 350Z customers will expect a slicker operation.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Exhaust/turbo hose clip came loose after 300miles - easily fixed but was a bit shocked initially as lost most of power and generated smokey exhaust. Luckily was close to garage and limped into service bay.

    Other

ABS actuator replaced. Slight vibration from within dashboard - but only when cold on winter start -ups.
