Summary
What does this car say about you?
That either you care about climate change or are fed up with paying through the nose for fuel.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Never asked them and don't care. I buy a car for myself, not to pass a message to other people.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Possibly: I've got it on a three year lease, because I expect that the technology will improve over the next three years. At the moment, in my opinion, it's the best at fulfilling my requirements, however, who knows what will be available in three years?
What are you likely to buy next?
Another EV, depends what's available in three years.

March 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
I bought the car via a Nissan special offer.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
It's totally electric and Nissan were also doing a good leasing deal.
What was the dealer like?
Competent, dealt with our requests in a satisfactory manner.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Being an electric vehicle, you get full torque from a standstill, so can leave other nominally more powerful cars behind at the traffic light grand prix. And the power comes on smoothly with no lag. The disadvantage is that the range is mostly limited by the speed that you drive at. You have to plan in advance for longer trips and it helps if you can anticipate events, so that you avoid unnecessary acceleration and braking.
What's it like to park?
Great, it has a rear view camera with lines that show where you're going and a small turning circle.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing yet.
What's most practical about your car?
Not having to pay for fuel.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Best thing is that it's totally electric and you can refuel from a domestic supply. An interesting gadget is the ability to control charging and climate control by internet or smart phone.
