Nissan Micra 1.2 LX 3d (1992/K) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Cheap to buy, incredibly cheap to run.
Costs
parts relatively expensive unless second hand, cheap consumables e.g. tyres, exhausts etc.
-
On the road
Driving
Always rather remote handling, brakes become soft with age, shock absorbers leak slowly giving a very bouncy ride that eventually becomes dangerous, reasonably fast on motorways.
Performance
Not hot rod but OK for most use - using the gears gives reasonable overtaking.

Living with it
Reliability
A car Mag recently reviewed cars that had done 100k miles like a Merc E class- our micra has done 160k with hardly a problem.
Image
People assume micras are drive by old ladies at no more than 30mph - evidanced by the number of cars that pull out on you... so not good
Comfort
Softish suspension helps, but noisy and seats sag with age.

Security and Service
Security
I've managed to break in without difficulty or damage to the car when I've locked my keys in it so it can't be good.
Service
little to say - never needed much
