Nissan Micra Hatchback (2010 - 2017) 1.2 N-Tec 5d CVT Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Very uncomfortable seats beyond short trips, handles like a oil tanker and at absolute best can be described as "OK" by anyone who hasn't driven much or anything else. For anyone that has driven anything else it's "Poor" at best and "A bit of a dog at worst". I can understand why the elderly and those who've given up on life gravitate towards the Nissan Micra. I can't comment on reliability as I haven't and won't be owning it long enough to find out; I'm certainly not looking to chuck good money after bad and it might end up being chopped earlier if I have to pay for anything beyond basic, routine servicing which I'll be getting done at the local independent rather than the main dealer gin palaces where I normally do. Lots of kit on the N-tec version but the discomfort caused by sitting in the thing and having to plan about a mile ahead and having to fight to navigate it around a junction and bend makes anything else pretty much insignificant and unnoticeable. I won't be buying another Nissan based on my experience with this woeful attempt at a car.
How reliable do you find the car?
Can't comment as only had it a few months.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
The seats are very uncomfortable for anything more than short trips (e.g. to the shops or around the local town). After 4 hours my lower back and below (!) are in quite distracting pain which doesn't go away for some time and it handles like an oil tanker, I bought it to use as my first automatic driving school car (fortunately I bought it used for £8K from a small independent dealer rather than buying new like I do normally) and it's going to have to go after the first year in favour of another brand new Ford Fiesta (fortunately since I bought the Micra used I can still run my considerably nicer manual Fiesta for anything non driving school related). The best the pupils can say is that it's "OK" but those who've driven anything else comment on the chronic handling and I'm getting tired of having to take significant action to avoid clunking the kerb (which was never a problem in the Fiesta and even car dealers, when I was looking to trade it in for a new car, commented on the condition of the alloys). I end up leaning to turn into bends like riding a bike! I think Parkers have been generous with a 3 star rating and I agree more with most other sites 2 star rating. It's a bit of a dog.About their car
