Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I like a good car but will not pay over the top. It's "mean" demeanour also says this is a person not to get in the way of or annoy as they WILL win the argument on the road!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Most people like it. The size and shape are good for a large family car. The gadgets in the car, while out of date by modern standards are still good and practical. They are also surprised at how quite and poky it is for a diesel.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes without question, I would gladly get another.
What are you likely to buy next?
I will look at Nissan again, possibly a later Primera or maybe the Qashqai if money allows.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,300
When did you buy the car?
September 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes. I got a good deal as the car is smooth to drive, has a lot of power and no serious issues. There are the normal marks and scratches you.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I love the Primera dash layout and have had estate cars for a while. The 2.2 DCI Engine was a bonus for pulling and carrying loads. The car I got also had the SatNav and Cruise Control options fitted.
What was the dealer like?
Honest and good. Car was seen on the internet and over 150 miles from me. Spoke to the dealer he told me about all the marks and emailed clearer pictures for me to see. Other than one minor thing he missed his description of the car was spot on and his manner was excellent.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The car handles very well. It holds the road well and the 2.2DCi engine is very responsive when needed, offering power easily and without delay. The only issue is that first gear is so short, it is not really needed as the other 5 gears do all the real driving. 1st is only needed if you are pulling an exceptionally heavy load.
What's it like to park?
The car comes with a rear parking camera as standard to help parking which comes up on the main centre screen when you engage reverse gear. This aids parking, but there is a tenancy to look at the screen and not use your mirrors which is a mistake. The camera does make parking easier and overcomes the limited view out of the rear window.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not yet!
What's most practical about your car?
IT has loads of room in it, both in terms of the leg room and boot space, The rear seats fold up well to allow for additional room.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Satnav and Cruise Control. While the Satnav is not the most up to date, the latest 2011 disc is accurate and the navigation is good. Cruise control is a god send on long journeys.
