Nissan Primera Saloon 2.0e GT 4d (1996/P) Owner Review

Economy
Value
I bought mine when it was 7 years old and it only cost £3k. Can't argue with that! It has been very reliable.
Costs
Main dealers are expensive so I don't use them. Hardly anything has gone wrong with the car in the two and a half years I've owned it. Fuel consumption is not bad, I would say I average 30mpg in town. 35mpg on motorways.

Driving
This car is responsive and well balanced. It holds the road surprisingly well considering it's a front wheel drive car. Obviously it suffers somewhat in the wet, but all FWD cars do.
Performance
Acceleration is not blistering but it's OK. Once you get the car over 4k revs it just keeps giving. Motorway journeys are fun and the car accelerates hard between 70 - 130mph. Red lines at 7.5k.

Living with it
Reliability
Only biggest thing to go was the radiator. Everything else has been small - just wear and tear. Can't fault it on reliability.
Image
It can't shake off the mini cab image. If you can deal with that and appreciate it for it's understated qualities it's a good car.
Comfort
Comfortable sports seats hold you in place without being restrictive. Controls are logically placed but engine noise is high. This is due to the 7.5k red line! Standard kit is good. Electrics all round, power steering, CD player.

Security and Service
Security
I still have it!
Service
Dealerships are expensive. Best to find a good specialist.
