Nissan Qashqai (2007 - 2013) 1.6 dCi Acenta (Sat Nav) 5d Owner Review

I traded my Ford Mondeo for this Qashqai and was very pleased from day one. It drove smoothly, cornered well and was a little higher off the ground which made it much easier for my wife and I to get in and out. It is plenty big enough for an average family and is well put together. I have now done 20k miles in it and am as pleased today as I was when I collected it from the dealer. Having said that I do have 3 small criticisms with it, the first being the fuel consumption is higher than the figures published and although I have had 44 mpg it averages out around 39 mpg. Secondly the engine is a work horse and will cruise at 70mph all day and night but the acceleration is poor and I sometimes find it hard to out accelerate a fully laden articulated truck. Thirdly the tailgate opening does not make it easy to carry a mobility scooter without disassembling it prior to putting it in the boot. In general I love the car despite these minor anomalies. I will by another but will ensure it has a turbo.
