Nissan Qashqai (2014 - 2021) 1.2 DiG-T Visia (Smart Vision Pack) 5d Owner Review

There is a known fault with the DIG-T petrol engines that are made my Renault. The pistons are not correct for the engine which causes increased oil usage . There are also timing chain issues. My timing chain needs replacing and I've only done 56000 miles. The cost to replace this is £750. Even if I do replace it becuse of the piston problem the issue will continue. Needless to say I will be getting rid of this car. Such a shame Nissan won't admit the fault but it would cost them millions to replace all the engines. Newer models have since been changed to different engines which in itself speaks volumes. The car itself is a lovely car to drive but its no good if the engine could blow up at any point
