Nissan Qashqai (2014 - 2021) 1.5 dCi N-Tec+ 5d Owner Review

We bought this Nissan for its high interior spec, supposedly high MPG and low CO2 emissions. In reality MPG falls well short and NOX is high, the car smells quite dirty on start up, despite using it for some long journeys. The engine feels underpowered, especially pulling off from stationary. Interior spec is good, in particular the 360 bird’s eye camera. Reliability is poor. Steering issues were fixed under warranty, the air conditioning condenser needed replacing just after 3 years, and the battery failed without warning causing the car to stop in a potentially dangerous place. To make matters worse, we couldn’t disengage the electronic parking brake to move it to a safe position, or even turn on the hazard lights, despite their being enough power to keep the lights on (which we couldn’t turn off). Overall, I couldn’t recommend it.
