Nissan Qashqai (2014 - 2021) 1.5 dCi Tekna 5d Owner Review

In their own words
Purchased this vehicle brand new in March 2015 and like everybody else was impressed by all the positive marketing comments / winning car of the year etc. Found it a touch strange that so many good comments could be made about a new model that had yet to prove its pedigree. In all honesty this is the first supposed Japanese vehicle I've owned. Previously I've stuck to the German theme with Mercedes, BMW and Audi. Whilst I fully appreciate one needs to compare apples with apples in terms of car comparisons, spending circa £27000 on a top of the range Tekna should comfortably compare with certain smaller models of our German friends. Far too many niggles to mention with regular trips to the dealer to rectify this, that and the other. This car is simply not a well built vehicle in my opinion. I was always of the impression when you buy a Japanese car, in this case a Nissan, reliability and build quality were paramount. This is more than likely true of vehicles manufactured in Japan using Japanese engines which I know is not the case with the Qashqai. I recently purchased a new BMW 118 i for my daughter which I appreciate is a completely different car with a price tag of £4000 less than my Qashqai. When you drive this car, it reconfirms my thoughts on how superior these cars are in terms of build quality ( no rattles and squeaks ) unlike our Qashqai friend. Well as you've probably guessed I will not be going anywhere near another one of these cars. Definitely worth investing a few extra pounds into something you look forward to driving as opposed to whats gone wrong now !!!! Back to Germany for me.
