Nissan X-Trail (2014 - 2022) N-Connecta 1.3 DIG-T 160 DCT auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
I know I'm"different" to most people, as I ordered this car in February 2020, as a factory order, made in Japan, as I wanted it built for me, with my name on it from the start. It had a 4 month lead time and then along came COVID and the world stopped. I took delivery 5 months later. 2.75 years and 13500 miles later the bright orange 1.3 petrol auto X-Trail has been faultless. It is very smooth and quiet to drive. The DCT dual clutch gearbox shifts smoothly and without fuss. The panoramic sunroof, large windscreen and door glass, make it a very spacious and airy cabin, which I need. There is enough space inside for family holidays to taken care of. As a weekend car detailer, all the surfaces, metal, fabric and plastic are very easy to keep spotlessly clean. All round camera's make parking safe and simple. The petrol engine, developed by a collaboration of Nissan, Renault and Mercedes, at 1.3 litres in capacity seems, at first small, but with a turbo has plenty of power and torque for sensible driving, with economy upto 53mpg on long runs, when using Shell V-Power. Servicing costs are low as long as you keep away from the main dealers. For safety, the car has all the boxes ticked. When we were "literally" faced with a out of control Mercedes E-class on bald tyres, spinning violently towards us on a wet, dark night on the M6, I swerved with 1.5 times full lock and floored the throttle at 50mph, the X-Trail jumped hard right across two lanes and accelerated hard enough to avoid being hit. When you have your wife and two children in the car with you at the time, you appreciate something that saved your lives. I kept my last Nissan for fault free 11.5 years and I've not doubt that this one will last the same.
