What does this car say about you?

I think it brings out my practical side. Big boot, ok for simple off road/snow use. Great for Scotland in the winter!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Only had positive comments. It's hardly exciting, and an older design, but it is solid and looks rugged.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. It's a good towcar and nice inside. I like the equipment and my partner and I really enjoy driving it. Would probably go second-hand/low mileage.

What are you likely to buy next?

Another X-trail, Santa Fe or Sorento.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I bought it as a towcar and because it has room for dogs in the boot.

What was the dealer like?

What's it like to drive?

Me and my partner prefer driving it, even over our much newer Octavia vRS! It tows fine too, very stable and quite torquey.

What's it like to park?

The reversing camera is very helpful for parking, especially when coupling up our caravan. It is not too big for standard parking bays.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I had warped front discs which I replaced for a couple of hundred quid (non genuine). I also had a fuelling problem - the car would cut a few seconds after it started. This was resolved by changing the diesel filter. I fitted a genuine Nissan one as I read on the internet about other people having similar symptoms with non-genuine fuel filters.

What's most practical about your car?

The room, space in back is good (despite the views of some reviewers). Boot is excellent and draws underneath helpful.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I like the Bluetooth - great to stay in touch on the move. The satellite navigation is fine but an older, rather dated design.
