Peugeot 106 (1991 - 2003) 1.1 Independence 3d Owner Review

The peugeot 106 was the best car I had ever owned. It was a old X reg with 55 thousand miles when I bought it, sure it was the base model and was nothing special but if your a person who wants great gas mileage and little things to go wrong then this might be the car for you! The 1.1 litre engine is nippy when around town and is very economical in city and highway driving . The car can easily get up to 70 but is a little shaky when doing so. I averaged about 65 to 80mpg which is the best I've gotten in all my cars. The only problem I had with my car was that the rear drumb brakes had failed (due to sitting stationary for a while), the lights had stopped working and the starting motor made a whine when starting. Apart from that the car ran smoothly and effortless! Only thing I will say is choose your model wisely, my model was the indipendance and came with no power steering or ABS which I didnt find a problem but others might. All in all if your looking for a retro car or a car that can give your great gas mileage I would highly recommend a Peugeot 106!
