Peugeot 106 1.1 Mardi Gras 3d (1994/L) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Cheap as chips to buy a good example.
Costs
Parts are common and as cheap as you like. 1.1 engine is frugal on fuel too.
-
On the road
Driving
Comfy car to drive, though narrow tyres leave you wanting for grip in greasy conditions. Great in town, 4-spd 'box struggles a bit on the highways.
Performance
For a 1.1, its pretty damn quick, gives those boy racers in their 1.2 16v Clio's a showing up anyway!

Living with it
Reliability
I've had no problems, just usual wear and tear (brakes, plugs, and a ball joint, but I'll let it off with that.
Image
still looks good for a 12 year old car, I bet with a good set of alloys (3 stud wheels though, so its a bugger getting them!) and maybe lowering the back a bit will make it look pretty darn good.
Comfort
Great front seats, although they don't recline fully -) quite tight in the back I've been told, but boot is big enough for the size of car, got a suitcase and holdall in there and still managed to keep parcel shelf on!

Security and Service
Security
No alarm, or immobiliser. I guess if someone wanted to take it, it would be easy enough.

Faultless, pulls well, especially in 2nd gear, though runs out of puff in 4th, or uphill.
