Value
Good value due to the fun factor. These cars also hold their price well.
Costs
Not bad. Needs regular servicing to keep engine in good nick. Can be thirsty on fuel if you drive it fast.

On the road
Driving
Very comfortable to drive, great road handling and grip, gives lots of confidence, even at high speed. Pedals are a little cramped though.
Performance
Very impressive for a 1.6 engine, does 0-60 in about 7.7 secs. Can beat virtually any other hatchback and many bigger cars. Needs to be revved high.

Living with it
Reliability
Mine has been pretty reliable so far, nothing major gone wrong just yet.
Image
Very good image, the car gets a lot of looks. I think the GTI badges help.
Comfort
Very comfortable seats, especially if you go for the leather/suede interior.

Security and Service
Security
Not great. Has an alarm/immobiliser but apparently it's not that effective.
Service
Haven't yet used the manufacturer, I find them too expensive.
