Peugeot 106 1.6 Rallye 3d (1997/R) Owner Review

Economy
Value
If want a car kitted out with goodies, then this is NOT the car for you! It is however very difficult not to adore its eagerness and amazing handling.
Costs
Do not pay Peugeot prices, best check the classified ads. A decent car can be found for well under £1000 less than a dealer. Servicing and parts are no more expensive than standard 106s.

On the road
Driving
A true gem. Peugeot cars have always handled well but this has to rate as one of the most chuckable cars I've driven.
Performance
From that 103 bhp engine lies a very light and quick car. Second only to the GTi this car should see off many cars, particularly in the mid range.

Living with it
Reliability
The car has not presented any serious worries, although the ECU can be troublesome.
Image
Although only those who know of the cars ability are likely to be headturned - it is a very smart looking machine indeed.
Comfort
The seats are a vast improvement from the series one Rallye, but still need a little more support. Drivers over 6 feet will have to adapt their driving style for the narrow footwells.

Security and Service
Security
Fitted immobiliser, but I'd recommend an after market alarm.
Service
Peugeot have improved their customer service over the years.

The ECU is tempremental.
Other
Check the front discs and tyres. Pirellis P6000 are best recommended.
