Peugeot 205 Hatchback 1.1 GL 5d (1988/F) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Good priced car.
Costs
You have to get used to a car to minimise fuel wastage.
-
On the road
Driving
Very nippy, even with a 1.1. But if you take it slow to not waste fuel, you don't get much speed up in first gear.
Performance
Great all round car. Handles corners very well. Can go over speed bumps at 30mph with out putting out passengers in back seats!

Living with it
Reliability
Very reliable. Very smooth engine noises. Unlike most older cars, it doesn't sound like it's going to conk out on me if I wait at a set of lights.
Image
Good styling. No rust on my car. Not like a sporty model, so its less than likely to take the interest of the local car thiefs.
Comfort
I tend to get back ache sitting in newer model cars, but this is bliss.

Security and Service
Security
Ok. Has a built in steering lock, which means if anyone tries to steal my car, they will end up going round in circles. A visible immobiliser will act as a deterant, as older cars are more up for joyride.

It stalls getting going in the morning (due to missing pipe), but once at end of road it's fine.
