Peugeot 205 Hatchback 1.6 GTi 3d (1989/G) Owner Review

Economy
Value
In my opinion you won't find a cheaper hot hatch that performs and handles as well as the 205 - I spent ages looking!
Costs
Average... except I seem to get through a fair amount of petrol! lol.

On the road
Driving
Incredible handling, especially when sports supsension is fitted along with strut brace etc.
Performance
To match handling... simply superb. Obviously not as quick as the 1.9, but the only faster 1.6 will be a Saxo VTS or a turbo's lump!

Living with it
Reliability
Had mine several months and not had one single problem! So far, so good!
Image
Gorgeous car... compare it to the likes of the cars that were released at the same time... eg Ford Fiesta XR2i - I know which one I'd rather have! Golfs are generally known as THE GTi, but I challenge you to drive a 205 GTi and still call Golf super.
Comfort
Standard seats quite nice, but I replaced mine with bucket seats. Not a huge amount of rear legroom, but as much as any other small hatchback.

Security and Service
Security
Locks are easy to pop out. Definitely get a Cat 1 alarm (helps with insurance as well) but I went one step further and had the locks removed and smoothed over (utilising the remote central locking).
Service
Not yet been serviced so can't really comment!
