Peugeot 205 Hatchback 1.6 GTi 3d (2000/V) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Look around. There are a few good ones left.
Costs
Steer clear of the main dealer and you'll save £££s.
-
On the road
Driving
Too many rattles and vibrations from the interior.
Performance
Great! More corners = more fun. Need I say more? Not a good motorway hack.
-
Living with it
Reliability
I've had two 205s over the last 12 years, and they've never let me down yet. The first one (1.4XS) had done more the 190,000 miles with no major problems.
Image
Getting a bit dated now, but still looks great.
Comfort
Good seating position and visability.
-
Security and Service
Security
Poor.
Service
Lack of knowledge on spares and far too expensive.
-
Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Valve stem seals means smokey when idle or in traffic jams.
Other
Boot seals are next to useless, even when replaced with new. Boot is always damp.
