Peugeot 205 Hatchback 1.8 GLD 5d (1989/F) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Without doubt the best £600 I have ever spent.
Costs
51mpg round town! Nearly 70mpg on a run!
-
On the road
Driving
Clutch and steering heavy, but it's such a hoot you can forgive it a few minor blemishes.
Performance
Not bad for an old diesel. Keeps up with the traffic, something my Primera TD can't do (see separate review).

Living with it
Reliability
Excellent, only probs, 1 new driveshaft and new battery.
Image
What image? It's FUN.
Comfort
Seats a bit soft and not too supportive.
-
Security and Service
Security
I use a steering wheel lock.
Service
Always use independant, no probs yet.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
None. Great engine.
Other
Tracking not quite right but not serious enough to spoil the fun. Had OS drive shaft replaced, £90 for complete job plus steering and suspension check.
