Peugeot 205 Hatchback 1.8 GRDT 5d (1992/K) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A good value for a sought after turbo diesel.
Costs
Good 55 MPG, even when using turbo. Parts a little pricey.

On the road
Driving
Fun to drive especially when turbo 'kicks' in. Heavy steering at slow speeds - would be better with PAS.
Performance
Good acceleration from the turbo, especially when overtaking vehicles from 40 to 65 MPH.

Living with it
Reliability
One thing to watch out for is the clutch cable snapping. This has happened twice on my car, and is a known design problem with RH drive. Otherwise, no major problems.
Image
Only looking a little dated now, but still has that unique, stylish image.
Comfort
Driver's seat could do with going back a little further. Would be uncomfortable for anyone who is 6ft tall or over.

Security and Service
Security
I have a Peugeot immobiliser on and a steering lock and have had no problems.
Service
No problems at all.
