Peugeot 206 GTi 2.0 3d (AC) (2000/W) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Overall very good, cheap performance car with very generous standard kit.
Costs
Just getting quotes for a 30,000 mile sevice - seems a little pricey, plus petrol consumption can be heavy if you floor the accelerator.
-
On the road
Driving
Grips well through the corners and pulls away quickly if you keep the revs above 4500. Engine can be a little noisy on the motorway - could do with the 6 speed 306 GTi box maybe?
Performance
It's no Clio Sport, but it is fun. Needs to be pushed hard to get the best out of it. Off-the-line starts can be rapid so long as you can keep the traction. Does suffer a little from torque/steer.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems whatsoever.
Image
Dressed down examples, i.e. minus the sports pack kit, look quite normal but 16" alloys make a little difference.
Comfort
Not the best. Pedals are too close together and seat never feels quite right, plus seat adjustors are put in ridiculous position. Dashboard and trim is cheap and rattles and squeaks no end as well.

Security and Service
Security
Fingers crossed on this one - get a disklok to be sure.
Service
Seems a little costly.
