  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

We bought the car for a keen price over 3 1/2 years ago, and still haven't lost too much in depreciation. the car is cheap to insure too, especially for younger drivers like ourselves.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

When we got the car it was only 2 1/2 years old, and was still under warranty. The warranty ran out, and things started to go wrong. The car has had no end of niggly faults that aren't cheap to sort, but hopefully we have ironed these out now.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

The car has quite sharp handling for a base model. My girlfriend and I both disagree over the driving position, she likes it, I hate it. If you are a tall person with big feet, this car is not for you, the pedals are really small.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

For a 1.1 this car is quite punchy around town. When we were at Uni, we used to use it to pound up and down the M1. it kept up with the flow of traffic, but became a bit breathless when we were pushing hard.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

OK, but lots of annoying problems form sticking windows, to switches and levers failing. the passenger seat doesn't slide forwards anymore for access to the rear, the airbag light stays on when there's no fault, and we've had a full exhaust system.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

The car has a strong image, and looks good in dark metallic colours with colour coded bumpers. Looks better with larger alloys rather than the 13inch steel rims and trims on our model.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Depends on how tall you are really. If you are vertically challenged, I/m told its fine. If you are tall, its awful on long journeys, but OK around town.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

We've never had any real issues. My only gripe is that this model doesn't come with central locking, which is a real shame on a car of this age.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Dealer network expensive, but it is with seeking out independent specialists, even for looking after the cheaper models.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Radiator hose went on a cold day on the M62. Check that dealers clip hoses back into correct places after services, or they catch on the belts and shear.

    Other

Lots of niggles. Passenger side window has jammed down, seat on passenger side doesn't slide forwards, doesn't lock passenger door from inside the car. we've also had brake lights jammed on and the airbag light not going off when there's no fault.

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
