Other Peugeot 206 (1998 - 2009) models:

  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

Not a great deal. I would rather it looked a bit more masculine.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    My mum likes it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. The 206 was definately not designed to accomodate a driver over 6ft. I drive it long distance a lot and suffer pain in my left knee and lower back after the journey.

What are you likely to buy next?

A larger, faster, more comfortable car.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

It has reasonable acceleration upto about 40mph and is generally nippy around town although sluggish beyond third gear, especially up hill. The handling is good although the car develops a twitchy rear end if pushed and beware if braking from high speed, as again the weight shifts to the front of the car and the rear end becomes twitchy.

    What's it like to park?

It is a lot easier to park if the three rear headrests are removed.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

The coil failed on numerous occasions causing juddering and significant loss of speed resulting several visits from my breakdown cover. Peugeot rectified this at the third attempt advising that 'the peugeot part is not good enough' and replacing this with a bosch part.

What's most practical about your car?

Fairly spacious, easy to drive, decent boot, seats four comfortably.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    None
