    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

Car Very expensive secondhand compared with similar cars, good to sell on because, but overall running costs for us have been astoundingly bad, major gearbox failure £300+, HT Coil, Engine Mounts!

    Costs

    2 out of 5 2.0

As mentioned, expensive to buy, expensive to maintain, fuel consumption around 35mpg unless air-con used. Not good.

  • On the road

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Drives Well, Very Quick Response, Auto Box Very willing (especially kick down), No Body Roll at all!

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Goes like the clappers, unbelievable performance for an 8v engine, kick down lethal.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    2 out of 5 2.0

Ha!!! This car drove through a puddle and cut out, complete HT coil replacement needed!!!

    Image

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very sporty look, high slanted look and mini spoiler gave the 206 a fresh look back in 1998, still looks cutting edge today.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comfortable supportive seats, sports-based suspension rather firm!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Seems ok, Equipped with immobiliser and central locking as standard, no alarm or deadlock feature though.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

Not good, Dealers have on and off days. Parts for a towbar took 3 weeks to arrive from a Peugeot Dealership, towbar alone was £200!! Peugeot to this day cannot diagnose correctly the engine mount fault that causes constant annoying rattles!

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    Fine, apart from mountings.

    Other

This car has many excellent points, however its reliability problems and expensive ownership let it down considerably. A real shame.
