Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,250
When did you buy the car?
June 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
We paid the market price for it.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
What was the dealer like?
I originally bought the car for my OH but have since inherited it. We had problems from the start, the gearbox was leaking, we found this after having the car for less than a week and the dealer promised it had apparently just been serviced. They tried to refuse to fix it until we threatened them with trading standards, the dealer in question is part of quite a large chain, we were quite shocked how poorly they treated us.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Slow, slow and slow don’t expect to try and overtake anything and if you go above 65mph the fuel economy is terrible, no wonder it only gets 49mpg on the combined cycle, the economy is poor around town as well. You only get good mpg when doing 60mph on long journeys then you can get ~50-60mpg.
What's it like to park?
Easy

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Front wish bones replaced twice. Front shocks replaced as were leaking. Bushes went in rear axle (very common fault) Two wheel bearings. Bad connection in engine bay left us stranded. Indicators have jammed on.
What's most practical about your car?
It's easy to park, and has good visibility.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
None it's an L, had to have remote central locking installed after we purchased it.
