What does this car say about you?
Likes a good looking, stylish car.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Smart, stylish with nice lines.
Would you buy this car again and why?
If it wasn't for the rear axle bearing issue, then I would happily buy another Peugeot and a 206 at that. The rear drop arm bearing is not an easy thing to change.
What are you likely to buy next?
Ford Fiesta or Focus.

Easy to park thanks to the power steering and being a smallish car.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The biggest issue with the 206 is the bearings for the rear axle drop arms. Had to change the rear axle in 2012 due to the drop arm bearing failing - and obtained a second hand axle. But that one had failed in 2014, so I purchased a refurbished back axle. I am advised that the Peugeot rear axle drop arm bearing is a standard fail feature on Peugeots - which is a great shame. I've only changed one glow plug in that time, along with a couple of wheel cylinders when the back axle was changed. The water pump was found to be leaking and changed when the cam belt was changed in 2009 - when it was around 10 years old. Other downside is the colour of the undercoat, which is different to the top coat - so any and all scratches stand out.
What's most practical about your car?
I've had this car for 9 years, and found it to be totally reliable. I'm just over 6 feet tall and find it very comfortable to drive. And it's really economical.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Hidden tool compartment under the passenger seat. Strap on the boot side wall that I use for holding a footpump.
