Economy
Value
Whatever you pay for this, old or new, you can and should get something better.
Costs
Around 500 miles per tank. Which, for a smallish car with a small diesel engine, is rubbish. My 2.0 petrol Volvo fares better.

On the road
Driving
Heavy, unresponsive steering gear shift in horrible position so my missus was practically leaning out the window when I need to shift.
Performance
Absolutely appalling. Not a big engine, but not a big car either - mount a sail on the roof and you'd double the acceleration. Barely decent once it gets up to motorway speed.

Living with it
Reliability
I realise diesels hate cold days, but for a new car to splutter and stall this much is unacceptable.
Image
My mates pointed and laughed at the 'thing' I was driving when I first got it. It looks like a mutant 206!
Comfort
Most uncomfortable seats ever, after five hours you need a chiropractor. Steering wheel hard and unpleasant, nowhere to rest your arms. Deafening road noise, especially on concrete.

Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser, although the car will likely accelerate away just as quickly with the engine off. Who is desperate enough to nick it?
Service
Centrally serviced company car

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Incredibly loud grinding/ clattering noise at low RPM in all gears, prompting looks for passersby. 24k service 'unable to find cause', and was fobbed off with 'it's a diesel, mate'
Other
Cheap interior bits broke off - interior door latch, glove box lid, for example!
Ownership
Did you buy the car new?
Used
Would you buy the same model again?
No
Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
Yes
