Summary
What does this car say about you?
It doesn't speak.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Wife likes it still after 8 years ownership.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I don't drive more than 18000 miles a year now so I don't need a new diesel. I'm wary about diesels now they come with particulate filters and dual mass flywheels. This car is not burdened with either. This Peugeot diesel has been reliable with very good fuel economy but times have changed and I will probably go for a petrol engine.
What are you likely to buy next?
Hyundai ix20 for the 5 year warranty mainly.

No

£0
When did you buy the car?

Did you get a good deal and why?
We paid the Parkers Guide rate so it wasn't a cheap bargain. No serious problems subsequently in the eight years we have had the car so we have had our moneys worth.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wife liked the styling. I wanted a car with a diesel engine.
What was the dealer like?
Good. Not pushy. Minor faults on car fixed by dealer under manufacturers warranty.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Driving position a bit contorted for tall drivers but you get used to it. Good acceleration. Quick on motorway journeys. Noisy at speed. Excessive road noise from tyres penetrates cabin.
What's it like to park?
Small car which is easy to park.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Radio not working and oil leak from rocker gasket (both fixed under manufacturers warranty.) Pitted front wheel brake discs replaced. Two MOT failures for excess smoke 3 and 4 years ago. No recent MOT failures for this since I stopped using supermarket diesel and started using Shell V Power / Nitro diesel. Front nearside wheel bearings have needed replacing twice ( second time at no charge from garage which did the first replacement).
What's most practical about your car?
The estate type styling. Plenty of room for luggage given that the 206 is a small car. Useful opening rear window for hatchback rear door. Car comes with roof bars. Good engine and fuel economy.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Radio/CD player.
