Like the hatchback on which it’s based, the 207CC has a top five-star Euro NCAP crash test rating. There’s also a comprehensive safety package, which includes five airbags (dual front, side and driver’s knee), pop-up rollover hoops (in the event of a rollover, they’ll raise, explosively, in 175 milliseconds), ABS and electronic brakeforce distribution.

All models have the electric folding roof, which lowers fully automatically (there’s no need to fiddle around with any catches) in 25 seconds. The boot is a good size with the roof up and there is still some room with it folded. However, it’s difficult to get bags out from underneath the roof once it’s retracted and no way of moving it up a little, as on some other models.

It means that the roof needs to be raised to remove items in the boot. Inside there are some useful cubbies and a small glovebox.
