Summary
What does this car say about you?
I had a few comments from people who said it seemed a bit boy racer-ish. Not the image I was going for!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends thought it was a joke - they kept asking me why I bought it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Never - I would be reluctant to buy any French car after this experience.
What are you likely to buy next?
I have replaced the 207 with a 2010 Vauxhall Astra which is a far superior car in every aspect.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,400
When did you buy the car?
May 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
My old Polo needed a £2000 repair bill which I made the garage aware of. They offered me £1800 trade in on the old car so I felt I got a good deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted a car with a warranty to avoid high repair bills.
What was the dealer like?
Very helpful, saleswoman was a young apprentice and I led on to be her first sale. This is probably why I felt like I got great customer service.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Gearbox was very clunky. Sometimes wouldnt engage certain gears. I noticed it most in Reverse, 2nd and 4th. Suspension is very firm as you would expect in the sport model. Engine is very noisy at higher revs when accelerating to join the motorway.
What's it like to park?
Very easy to park. It had light steering in town, decent turning circle and was small enough to fit in most spaces.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
I owned this car for 9 months... In that time a lot went wrong with it. In 9 months, it needed to go back to the garage for 4 new clutches, 1 gearbox, new window seals and the electrics didnt work too well - sometimes the car would unlock randomly.
What's most practical about your car?
The car had electric windows in all 4 doors, this was useful. Boot space and rear seats were a bit cramped.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The bluetooth connectivity was brilliant. You could answer your phone through it legally but the best part was that I could play my music from my phone over the car stereo. The steering wheel controls could skip tracks on my phone without any fumbling around.
