Peugeot 208 Hatchback (2012 - 2019) 1.2 PureTech Active 3d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The car is brilliant for a first time car i.e. young driver, it is ideal for one person and it is a pleasure to drive by this I mean, easy steering nothing to much when squeezing down narrow streets, its nippy in the town so great for town and city driving. However if you want long distance motoring I recommend the 1.6 BlueHDI diesel. I had this one as Hire while mine was being serviced and it was a absolute pleasure to drive compared to the 1.2 puretech petrol I own. The diesel took off like a rocket and made mince meat out of overtaking other vehicles and fuel economy was out of this world. The car I have had since December 2015 brand new and I still to this day struggle to park it, yet I can drive a ford fiesta and park it fine, even bigger vehicles like its big brother the 308 I can park first time in the tightest spot.
Overall its a great car, really comfy but after a 2 hour drive, myself and my other half have found we get severe back ache as the seats are too soft. I would buy another however it would be a 5 door for ease of access and it would be the diesel version.
How reliable do you find the car?
Since owning the car brand new, It has been to the dealer on several occasions well a lot more than my old 207 ever had in the time I owned it. Couple related to Electrical faults in relation to the onboard infotainment system and overheating due to excessive temps, one being the car door flung open at 30mph going around a roundabout due to a faulty lock mechanism and soft clutch not biting properly. However the engine in this car is superb, mechanically sound and no concerns with the reliability aspects.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Boot in this car is very small, however it has toys inside to which would cost a small fortune from some car companies, i.e. cruise control, onboard pressure sensors just to name a few, these make the car great fun to drive. Parking the car is a nightmare though, I have been driving for 8 years and I have never struggled to park a car like this, even friends and family have the same car, they too have commented on how hard it is to park. I would recommend getting parking sensors if your offered them, I was not as it was already in stock not made to order.About their car
