In their own words

Looked for many months for a replacement for my 94,000 mile 2013 Mondeo top of range with lovely light grey leather, which was reliable, very comfortable, glides over potholes, 40mpg and really good acceleration, plus a huge load space. Now wanted an SUV for their ride height for ease of access as we’re well into our 70’s, and tried a BMW X3 - but it’s ride is too hard. Eventually settled on a 2017 Peugeot 3008 GT in red / black paint and plenty of chrome bling.....a good looking car externally. I wanted one with a panoramic glass opening roof.....but after two summers’ use realised it’s set too far back for any benefit to front seats users. Test drive seemed to show it was “ok” on rough roads. But now after about 20 months of its too-hard suspension and its suffocating black interior, and only 40 mpg, it has had to go, and have changed to another SUV - a Volvo XC60 which has a better ride and a beautiful cream leather with glorious tan carpets and cream headlining. OK it’s a 2014 model, but what a great car.....smoother ride, great acceleration. The 3008 had the most complicated system for changing or controlling ANYTHING on the dashboard......e.g. if you accidentally pressed on the touch screen in the wrong way you lose all the lighting on the dash, or the headlights suddenly point down to six feet in front only, or the dash is too bright after dark or too dim at night......the whole touchscreen programming is a nightmare. The older Volvo doesn’t use an eyes-off-the-road touch screen. Peugeot need to rethink how drivers can safely and easily use a car’s electrical controls......on the 2017 3008 they got it wrong.
