What does this car say about you?

passion, i love my car, i wash and wax it every couple of days and any problem that creeps up will be dealt with, i look after my car like a child of mine.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

nice, improvement over my usual Rover love interests.

Would you buy this car again and why?

yes 100%. although i have not owned it long, the handling, sporty looks and ride comfort are on another level at this price, i mean come on i payed £500.

What are you likely to buy next?

another 306, however if my money situation improves i would like to seek a 306 s16 out, however at my age its the insurance that stops me affording these things.

Did you get a good deal and why?

yes, car is rare and becoming rarer, along with this i have picked up a stunning example for the price. phase 1 roland garros, much sought after by pug enthusiast, i think there were 400 hard tops made and 150 cabrio's, but dont quote me here, its close.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

handles great in comparison to my previous car ( Rover 214 ), lots of service history and many receits dating way back. engine is in superb condition for age with 95k on the clock. overall condition of body is in superb condition including interior. i intended to buy a phase 2 model but upon seeing this phase 1 i was just as pleased with the styling, the dash is looking dated but is lifted by the roland garros interior finish.

What's it like to drive?

i love it, i've only owned a Rover metro and Rover 214 previously and this trounces them both not in performance but on handling and ride comfort. the Rover 214 seemed a little quicker but this little 8 valve is pretty sharp as well and im suprised how well it flies up hills.

What's it like to park?

this is the downside, its easy to park but the power steering is a little heavy and i imagine it could be a slight pain for the average lady driver, but im not a lady so its not a real problem for me. however this car is a 1994 so provided you get slightly newer i imagine the power steering will be lighter and more advanced.

Have you had any problems with the car?

no, but i have only owned it a week so far, although the amount of receipts i have with the car would suggest its been well looked after and nothing major should go wrong any time soon.

What's most practical about your car?

good size boot, economical and nippy 1.6, although i do long to test drive a s16 or gti-6 soon as i see a legal opportunity.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

half leather bucket seats, these things are superb, i havn't owned a car with seats like these and the feeling of being swallowed by your seat is a nice one, makes cornering a joy aswell as your backside doesnt move an inch.
