What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Never asked them. But a few times I got compliments from work colleagues. I was 24 at the time I had this car and everyone really liked it. There was plenty of space for passengers on a rear.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I am back to my shoes when I had lots of depts and had something to buy to travel from A to B I would go for this car again. I think I won lottery with this car as I never really invested a lot in this car but do know lots of people around who intermitently have prolems with this and with that. So be careful and check everything before buying, especially electrics.

What are you likely to buy next?

I have now 03 Vauxhall Astra Coupe Bertone 1.8. But will be buying 05-06 Astra Sports Hatch 1.9 CDTI 150BHP in a few months.

Did you get a good deal and why?

That was a good deal as I paid for the car &700 in the middle of recession and sold it a few month ago for &1300.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

The car was in very good condition, with low milliage, and the price was quite attractive - &700 only. Although I bought it for &690 as I found &10 under driver`s seat upon returning home.

What was the dealer like?

The seller was an easygoing man and he gave me some time to look to check the car and was not pushing me to buy it.

What's it like to drive?

The drive is quite refined. Mine was 1.8 petrol GLX. The acceleration was not brisk and the engne should work hard which eventually means the fuel consumption was not ideal to me. Mine returned 32MPG approx. There is plenty of road noise when driven on motorway. This car does not have ESP and Traction control hence better to be careful when you drive on country roads. The ride is quite soft thanks to soft seats but there is plenty of body roll even inspite of the fact that it is quite low car. I do not own this car anymore but I still have a good impression about it. Considering money you pay you get plenty of car.

What's it like to park?

It is really easy to park it as the car does not really have any blind spots. However considering it is a small car it makes a wide circle when turning around.

Have you had any problems with the car?

There were a few faults. The stulk indicator was quite temperamental and sometimes worked by itself. Got it replaced myself for &10. The engine RPMs were jumping between 700 and 1200 when idle or driven on the first gear which resulted in not smooth drive. Not a big deal for me. A few times engine was overheated when I was sitting in the traffic jams and was switching between first and second gear. The digital clock stopped working by itself suddenly.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot! You can easily put your bike inside the boot. Rain sensor. AC rocks! The heater was working incredibly well in winter.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Rain sensor. Supportive seats. ABS brakes. Electric windows and mirroes all around.
